Remodeling Murray's older homes
Murray has some of the oldest housing in the valley outside Salt Lake City itself: early bungalows near the historic downtown, post-war cottages, and blocks of 1960s and '70s ramblers. Kitchens in those homes tend to be small and closed off, with soffits over the upper cabinets, too few outlets and plumbing that has been patched more than once.
That changes how we plan. Before we price a new layout we look at what is behind the walls: whether the wall between kitchen and dining room is load-bearing, whether the electrical panel can take new circuits, and whether old supply lines should come out while the room is open. Because we hold the general contractor license, those answers land in one estimate instead of a string of change orders.
