Custom Cabinets & Granite Countertops in Salt Lake City
About Our Company
We've Been Building Salt Lake City Kitchens for Over 25 Years.
Sticks & Stones Cabinets & Granite started the way most good things do: with people who actually knew what they were doing deciding to do it on their own terms.
Phil Tate and Brandon Wilkins didn't come from sales. They came from the floor—manufacturing, design, installation, the kind of work where you see exactly what holds up and what doesn't. Twenty-five years of that experience is what built this company, and it's what shows up on every project we take on.
We're family-owned, Salt Lake City-based, and we handle everything in-house.
Kitchen &
Bathroom Design. Materials. Installation.
The whole thing: one team, no runaround.

A Design Center Built for Real Decisions
We built our showroom because picking materials from a catalog is a bad way to spend $15,000.
Come in and see it in person. Touch the cabinet finishes. Compare granite slabs side by side. Walk across the flooring samples. Our team will tell you what actually performs well in Utah homes: what handles hard water, dry winters, and heavy daily use, and what just looks good in photos.
No pressure. Just real answers.

Kitchens Are What We Know Best
A kitchen remodel is one of the biggest decisions a homeowner makes. We don't take that lightly.
Whether you're doing a full gut renovation or just replacing cabinets and countertops, we'll design something that fits how you actually use the space.
Custom cabinets built to your layout. Granite, quartz, or quartzite countertops are selected for durability, not just looks. Backsplash tile, lighting, plumbing fixtures — we handle it all so you're not managing five different contractors.
Utah kitchens take a beating. Hard water, temperature swings, busy families. We build for that reality.
Bathrooms Done Right
Bath remodeling is where the details matter most and where shortcuts show up fastest.
Sticks & Stones handles full bathroom renovations—shower tile, frameless shower glass, vanity cabinets, mirrors, plumbing fixtures, and flooring. We've done enough of them to know where the common mistakes happen and how to avoid them. Proper substrate prep. Correct waterproofing. Hardware that actually lasts.
If your bathroom has needed work for a while, we'll help you figure out the right scope and the right budget to get it done properly.

We Know That Feeling, The One Before You Start
You've been thinking about redoing the kitchen for two years. Maybe longer. You've saved the Pinterest boards, watched the YouTube videos, gotten one quote that felt way too high, and then just... put it off again.
That's one of the most common conversations we have at Sticks & Stones.
Most people don't hesitate because they don't want to renovate. They hesitate because they don't know who to trust with the budget, or they've heard stories about projects that dragged on forever, or they just don't know where to start.
We get it. Come in, no commitment, no pressure. Tell us what you're thinking. We'll tell you what's realistic—timeline, budget, materials—and you can decide from there. A lot of our best projects started as a conversation that almost didn't happen.
More Than Kitchens and Baths
Over the years our clients kept asking us to handle more—so we did.
Today Sticks & Stones also installs
LVP and waterproof flooring, carpet, and tile throughout the home; under-cabinet and general lighting; and shower glass and mirrors. We offer
full general contracting services, including demolition, for clients doing larger renovations.
One contractor. One point of contact. A lot less stress.

We Think About the Long Game
Here's something most contractors won't tell you — a lot of remodel problems start with decisions made on day one.
Wrong cabinet construction. Countertops sealed improperly. Flooring installed without the right underlayment. Everything looks fine at first. Then two years in, things start to shift, crack, or wear unevenly.
We've been doing this long enough to know what those decisions look like—and we make different ones. The goal isn't a kitchen that photographs well for the listing. It's a kitchen that still feels solid in fifteen years.
For DIYers and Independent Contractors
Not everyone needs us to manage the whole project, and that's fine.
If you have your own contractor or prefer to handle installation yourself, we can facilitate your material order, help you spec everything correctly, and make sure you're set up for success. We work with a lot of custom home builders and independent tradespeople throughout the valley.
Come in, tell us what you're working with, and we'll figure out the best way to help.
Where We Work
We're based in Salt Lake City and serve homeowners and contractors across the Salt Lake Valley—Sandy, Draper, South Jordan, West Jordan, Murray, Millcreek, Cottonwood Heights, Holladay, and Midvale. We also regularly work in Park City, Lehi, and northern Utah County.
Not sure if you're in our range? Just call.
We'll tell you straight.

What Our Clients Say
Reviewers on Google and Yelp consistently mention the same things: professional service, attention to detail, and a team that works within real budgets without cutting corners on quality.
That's not accidental. It's the standard we hold every project to.
The Kind of Work That Earns a Second Call
Most of our new clients come from someone who worked with us before or someone who saw a project we finished.
That's how we measure whether we did our job right. Not the photos. Not the proposal. The call three years later asking us to do their next room.
Homeowners come back because their kitchen still looks and works exactly the way it should. Builders and contractors keep us on their list because we show up, communicate, and finish clean.
That reputation took 25 years to build. We don't take shortcuts with it.
